With eCommerce booming, many businesses on the Bigcommerce platform will be looking to see how they can capitalise on the increase in digital shopping by expanding into new markets overseas. But while the platform might help your website reach the right people, can it also make sure your orders get to them too?

If you’re new to Bigcommerce, and are still researching different eCommerce solutions, then it’s worth knowing that Bigcommerce is more designed for businesses that have large or complex catalogues.

This is great for retail type stores who will have a lot of products in their inventory and need a platform that can be easily updated and cope with varying options of each product.

What’s more, last year, Bigcommerce teamed up with Glopal, to help create localisation options for stores on its platform. This now allows online sellers to instantly launch a local version of their store in over 60 countries worldwide.

Thanks to this, it’s Bigcommerce is highly scalable so can grow as big as you need it to with your own business. They also don’t charge any transaction fees either – which is great news if you have a smaller margin on your products.

This makes Bigcommerce massively popular with around 100,000 stores and sales of more than $17 billion, which has secured their spot as one of the biggest eCommerce platforms across the world.

But it has one huge drawback – they don’t offer you any shipping options, meaning once your customer has made their order, Bigcommerce has done their job and you’re now on your own.

This is all well and good if you’ve an internal team to manage the shipping for you, but the reason we’re looking into this is because you want to grow. You’ve customers overseas itching to try your products, and hopefully buy more, but your internal shipping team is too small to cope, or you need them to do other things to help grow the business.

All these new international customers have placed an order and now you’re left wondering how to get the orders to them.

Thankfully, Bigcommerce is compatible with delivery logistic companies like Asendia.

This does mean that you’re using another third party to look after another stage in the customer journey. But with seamless integration, you’ll get the mighty, unlimited, big stock options of Bigcommerce and the professionalism and care of an established and well-rehearsed delivery company.

Two businesses doing what they do best in their own field, working together for you.

If you’d like to see how Asendia can connect its mail delivery solutions seamlessly with your Bigcommerce store, or any other eCommerce platform, get in touch.
