The United States ranks well in almost all e-commerce indices, particularly the Ease of Doing Business Index (6th). Plus, with 88% of the American population accessing the internet, the US ranks 3rd in the Inclusive Internet Index.

E-GDP continues to rise in the US, increasing from 1.9% in 2015 to 2.56% in 2018. Overall, total B2C ecommerce spending reached $521 billion last year, with online marketplaces generating the majority of sales revenue.

E-commerce Landscape

In the US, online consumers are shopping online at least once per month. While Amazon sites were the most popular retail websites, eBay was the number one retail app in the US for both Android and iOS.
