Service Update Bulletin September 8th 2014

We are committed to keeping you informed weekly about current and upcoming worldwide events that may affect our postal services.  

International Services   

Ebola virus: Flights into Sierra Leone and Liberia have been suspended in order to contain the Ebola Virus outbreak. No mail will be shipped to these destinations until further notice.

Italy: ENAV air traffic controllers were on strike 6th September between 12:30pm and 4:30pm. Flight delays and cancellations may have led to some delays in mail being transported into Italy.

Postal services to the following countries are still on hold until further notice: Libya, Ukraine and Syria. 

Public Holidays
The following Public Holidays will see mail centres closed; with some disruption to mail collections and deliveries:

Services to France

Industrial actionDelays are expected in the following regions: Loire-Atlantique (44230) and Ille-et-Vilaine (35150).

According to the pilots' union SNPL France Alpa, Air France pilots are scheduled to go on strike from September 15th through to 22nd. Delays in mail processing and delivery are possible as a result of this strike.

UK Services 

NATO Summit 2014 - South Wales
Restrictions on the CW, L, WA and WN postcode areas due to the NATO Summit have been lifted. Delivery service will return to normal today.

Roadworks on the M6 on Friday resulted in the late arrival of vehicles to the Royal Mail National Distribution Centre in Daventry. This may mean a delay to a small amount of mail posted in the CF, LD, NP and SA postcode areas for delivery in parts of North Wales and the North West of England on Saturday.

On Saturday, the closure of the M6 resulted in the late arrival and subsequent departure of a vehicle at the Royal Mail National Distribution Centre. This may mean a delay to a small amount of mail posted in the G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas for delivery across the UK and a small amount of mail posted across the UK for delivery in the CW, L, WA and WN postcode areas.
