UK Services

Air, Road and Rail

On Friday night the Royal Mail flight from Newcastle-East Midlands was delayed. As a result of this a small amount of mail posted in the North East of England for delivery in parts of the South West of England and Southern Wales is likely to arrive later than planned.

On Friday morning the Royal Mail flight from Aberdeen-Sumburgh (Shetland Isles) was delayed due to fog at Sumburgh and was diverted to Kirkwall (Orkney) where it departed in the afternoon for Sumburgh when conditions had improved. Unfortunately the mail due for delivery on Friday would have been delayed until Saturday.

On Saturday morning the Royal Mail flight from Inverness-Kirkwall was delayed due to fog at Kirkwall, as a result of this some mail due for delivery on Saturday will be delivered today.

The late arrival of a vehicle in to the Royal Mail’s National Distribution Centre on Friday meant that it was late leaving. As a result some mail posted in other parts of the UK for delivery in the PL postcode areas is likely to arrive later than planned.

Normal deliveries and collections of mail should be made in all parts of the UK today.
