Capacity issues meant that not all mail could travel on a flight from East Midlands to Belfast last night, instead it was transferred via the road/ferry network. As a result a small amount of mail posted in parts of the UK yesterday for delivery to Northern Ireland today will arrive later than planned.
The late arrival of a vehicle from the Royal Mail's Jubilee Mail Centre in to the Royal Mail's London Princess Royal Distribution Centre meant that not all mail was able to connect with the scheduled outbound services. As a result, a small amount of mail posted yesterday in the GU, KT, SW and TW postcode areas for delivery today in the CB, PE, BA, BS, GL, TA, CF, LD, NP, SA, BH, DT, PO, OX, RG, SN, SO and SP postcode areas will arrive later than expected.
Due to the State opening of Parliament many roads in the SW1 area of London, particularly around Whitehall and Parliament Street, have been closed. This will affect deliveries in the area.
