Due to the earthquake that hit Nepal over the weekend mail services in and out of the country will face delays.

Following the eruption of Calbuco volcano in Chile on Thursday 23rd April, airports in the area are closed. This will lead to the disruption of mail services and deliveries in the following areas; Puerto Montt, Calbuco, Cochamó, Fresia, Frutillar, Los Muermos, LLanquihue, Maullin, Puerto Varas, Osorno, Puerto Octay, Purranque, Puyehue, Rio Negro, San Juan de la Costa and San Pablo.

Correos Chile (CL) has reported that there will be delays in the delivery of parcels and mail due to serious flooding in the northern regions of Chile.

The recent extreme weather conditions have resulted in floods and damage to roadways in parts of the New South Wales area of Australia. This is affecting the delivery of mail, particularly in the postcode 2xxx area.

Air, rail, road
On Friday, the Royal Mail flight from Edinburgh to East Midlands airport was delayed. As a result a small amount of mail posted in South and Central Scotland for delivery in parts of England and Wales may arrive later than planned.
Due to a road traffic accident, mail from the Royal Mail's Yorkshire Distribution Centre failed to connect with flights from East Midlands airport on Friday. This has resulted in a delay to a small amount of mail posted in the North of England for delivery across the UK on Saturday.
