Service Update Bulletin 2nd November

International Services

Lufthansa: Update 9th November

There are delays due to the German cabin crew union UFO announcing to go on strike at Lufthansa Passenger Airlines. A special timetable was published where all continental and intercontinental flights had to be cancelled. The few exceptions are flights between Munich and Frankfurt to London Heathrow, Dublin, Ashgabat, Delhi, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Lufthansa also evaluate short-term deployment of additional freighter connections. As a precautionary measure we already transfer shipments that are booked on continental flights to a Road Feeder Services.

The following Airlines are unaffected and will operate as planned, flights from German wings, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines.

El Salvador: Update 6th November

There will be a delay in the collection and delivery of mail until further notice. This is due to an indefinite strike taking place from the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Development staff.

Denmark: Update 5th November

There were interruptions over the weekend with the EDI flow and the inbound/outbound process flow.

EDI-Flow: From Saturday, November 7th, at 14.00 (local time) to Monday, November 9th, at 08.00 (local time), the EDI interchange was stopped. After Monday, November 9th, at 08.00 (local time), there may still be some delay in EDIs due to backlogs waiting to be processed by servers.

There was no access to the track & trace information between Saturday, November 7th, at 14.00 (local time), and Monday, November 9th, at 14.00 (local time).

Process Flow: We will not be producing any bar code item (PRIME, EMS or PARCELS) inbound, or sending any postal items outbound in the down time period. This includes postal items in transit through PostNord Denmark from/to PostNord Sweden. Please note that also the Customs process will be interrupted in the down time.

Australia: Update 5th November

Australia Post is expecting a disruption in the handling of all inbound mail from Wednesday 4th November to early this week. There may be possible backlogs of mail held up due to the industrial action by its staff in the inbound Australian office of exchange until further notice.

Services to France

Wednesday 11th November is a Bank Holiday in France, this will mean a 24hr delay in mail being processed on this day.

A delay is expected for a portion of mail due to an industrial action on the Neuilly sur Seine distribution center PDC1 (92200).

Expect a day’s delay for some letters from Department 60 to the entire territory. This is due to a technical problem in the Creil PIC sorting centre.

UK Services

Air, Road and Rail

Not all deliveries could be made in all areas due to an industrial action by members of the Communication Workers Union at both the Swindon and Bootle Delivery Offices for some time on Saturday morning. Deliveries should be made in all parts today but these may be heavier than normal and made at different times.

A small amount of mail posted in the BR, CR, SE, SM, BH & DT postcode areas on Friday for delivery on Saturday in parts of the North West, North East and the Midlands may have been delayed. This is due to a late arrival of vehicles from Croydon and Dorset Mail Centres in to the National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Daventry on Friday night, which meant that some mail was unable to connect with scheduled services.

Some mail posted in the CW, L, WA and WN postcode areas for delivery in parts of the UK may arrive later than planned. This is due to a vehicle breaking down when travelling from Warrington Mail Centre to the National Distribution Centre and arrived later than planned in to the NDC on Saturday night.

Some mail posted in the EC, N, W1, WC postcode areas for delivery in parts of the UK may arrive later than expected. This is due to a vehicle breaking down when travelling from London Mail Centre to the NDC and some mail arrived too late to connect with some scheduled outbound services.

A small amount of mail posted in other parts of the UK for delivery in the CV, LE, MK and NN postcode areas may arrive later than planned. This is due to capacity issues meaning that not all mail was able to travel on the scheduled service from NDC to the South Midlands Mail Centre on Saturday night.

A small amount of mail posted in parts of the UK for delivery in the DD, EH, FK, KY, PH and TD postcode areas may arrive later than expected. This is due to the scheduled service from the NDC to Edinburgh Mail Centre reaching full capacity on Saturday night and not all mail was able to travel.

Some mail posted in parts of the UK for delivery in the far South West of England may be delayed. This is due to the late arrival of a vehicle in to the South Western Distribution Centre on Saturday night meaning that mail was unable to travel on the scheduled outbound service.

The rest of the UK network operated well over the weekend.
