Service Update Bulletin 8th February

International Services

New Zealand: Update 5th February

There may have been some transmission delays for sending EDI message to other postal operators. This is due to IT issues experienced at New Zealand post on the 3rd, 4th and 5th February 2016. This issue was resolved on Friday and all EDI messages affected during the outage are now transmitted.

Japan: Update 4th February

There were interruptions in the transmission of EDI messages for Japan Post on Sunday 7th February from 11:00 to 23:00 (JST). This was due to maintenance on its tracking system. The transmission of EDI messages resumed on Sunday 7th February at 23:00 (JST) and is now back to its normal service.

Greece: Update 3rd February

Hellenic Post ELTA had a 24-hour strike on Thursday 4th February which effected both international and domestic mail collection and delivery. There was a 4 hour work stoppage for air traffic controllers from 08:00 till 12:00 (local time).

Services to France

Expect a day’s delay for some letters from Department 60 to the entire territory. This is due to a technical problem in the Creil PIC sorting centre.

UK Services

Air, Road and Rail

A small amount of mail posted in parts of the UK on Saturday for delivery today in parts of Central, Southern and Northern Scotland may arrive later than planned. This is because not all mail was able to travel on the scheduled service to Scotland due to capacity issues with a vehicle at the North West Distribution Centre.

The rest of the UK network operated well over the weekend.
