Service Update Bulletin 7th September 2015

International Services

Update 1st September

China Post has reported that mail services have returned to normal after the explosion in the Tianjin area.

There have been heavy rainstorms resulting to flooding in Shanghai, China. Both inbound and outbound mail processing was affected. It has now been reported that there are no longer any delays.

Services to France

Due to a technical problem on routes Chelles / Lempdes, Clermont Ferrand / Saint Etienne, there may be a small delay of mail to Puy, Mende and Saint Etienne.

UK Services

Air, Road and Rail

Mail posted for delivery in parts of Wales, the Midlands, the South West and North of England may arrive later than planned due to a technical issue resulting in the cancellation of a flight from East Midland to Belfast airport.

There may be a delay to a small amount of mail posted in parts of the UK for delivery in the BD, HD, HG, HX, LS, WF and YO postcode areas today. This is due to capacity issues on Saturday; some mail was unable to travel on the final services from the National Distribution Centre to the Leeds Mail Centre.

There were minor issues at the Chelmsford and South Midlands Mail Centres on Friday leading to a delay in a small amount of mail posted across the UK for delivery in the CM, CO, CV, LE, MK, NN and SS postcode areas on Saturday. In addition, high volumes of mail at our Aberdeen Mail Centre yesterday may mean a delay to a small amount of mail posted across the UK for delivery in the AB and ZE postcode areas today.

The rest of the UK network operated well over the weekend.
