Service Update Bulletin 1st February

International Services

USA: Update 25th January

There were significant impacts of inbound flows to JFK for US country wide destinations as well as all products destined for the Mid Atlantic to North Eastern States. This is due to flight disruptions in JFK, Philadelphia and the Washington DC area’s which have impacted all airports. Major roads and runaways are being cleared, however side roads are still not cleared. Flights were expected to start up around 12pm on Monday 25th January.

Services to France

Delays are expected for a portion of mail in the Mouzillon (44330) and St. Astier (24110) distribution centres. This is due to an industrial action.

Expect a day’s delay for some letters from Department 60 to the entire territory. This is due to a technical problem in the Creil PIC sorting centre.

UK Services

Air, Road and Rail

There may be some disruptions to mail travelling between UK and the Orkneys, Shetlands and Western Isles. There were several air services that were unable to fly to many of the Scottish Islands due to strong winds over the weekend.

Deliveries were not possible in the Criagavon, Lurgan & Portadown areas (BT62 to BT67 postcodes). This was due to the heavy snow in parts of Northern Island. All mail will be delivered and collected in all areas today.

A small amount of mail posted in the SN, OX and RG postcode areas due for delivery across the rest of the UK may arrive later than expected. This is due to a vehicle travelling from the Swindon Mail Centre to East Midlands airport being diverted to the National Distribution Centre near Daventry.

The rest of the UK network operated well over the weekend.
