Postal Services to Finland

Finland is one of the most switched on of the Nordic countries, with 94% of its 5.5million population being regular internet users.

The Finnish e-commerce market has seen a steady growth over the years, with €10.5billion spent online by almost 4million consumers in 2013. The three biggest consumer markets have been clothes, shoes and ticket purchasing for music events; plays; and other cultural events.

It's no surprise that the rise in e-commerce consumerism coincides with the rise in internet usage and increased advertising measures. Advertising spend was up by 8% in Finland during 2013, with roughly half of the population receiving printed advertisements direct. With a large, global network of postal provides and couriers Asendia can help you reach your intended recipients. Whether you are sending printed direct mail, catalogues or goods into Finland, Asendia has a service that can help create a timely delivery for your business and its consumers.

Their main motive is flexibility and convenience. Only 12 % gave lower prices as their reason. In comparison to the Swedes or Danes, Finns tolerate considerably longer delivery times. Tips for mailing to Finland

Tips for mailing to Finland

Finland is officially bilingual; both Finnish as well as Swedish are official languages, although only 5.5 % of the population speak Swedish – however, the language differs from Swedish spoken in Sweden. Finnish is the mother tongue for 92 % of the population. Sami is also considered to be an official language in some regions.

One particularly important source of private addresses is the Finnish public register, one of the largest sources available. Subsidiaries of the Finnish postal service also offer comprehensive B2B and B2C databases.

The leading providers in Finland are Bisnode Finland, Itella, Intellia, MicroMedia, the Tieto Corporation and the "Väestörekisterikeskus" (Population Register Centre). This register is only available for postal Direct Mail and not for telephone marketing or e-mails. Lifestyle addresses and special databases in B2B and B2C are not offered. Private addresses can generally be selected according to gender, region, age, income or marital status, incl. information on children. The business addresses on offer can usually be selected according to industry, number of employees, legal form, year established and sometimes also to turnover.
